How to use Huawei fiber optic panel networking

How to use Huawei fiber optic panel networking

Using a Huawei fiber optic panel involves connecting the fiber cable, powering the device, configuring the web interface, and setting up Wi-Fi for your devices.Step 1: Connect the Fiber Optic CablePlug the fiber optic cable into the optical port on the Huawei panel and the corresponding wall port. Most Huawei devices, such as the EG8145V5 or OptiXstar HG8145V5, use SC/APC connectors and come pre-connected, so no splicing is required . Ensure the fiber is routed carefully, avoiding sharp bends, and use cable supports if passing through corners .Step 2: Power On the DeviceConnect the power adapter to the fiber optic panel and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the device to initialize; indicators such as Power, PON, LOS, and LAN will show the device status .Step 3: Access the Web InterfaceOpen a web browser and enter the device's IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.100.1). Log in using the default credentials, usually username: admin and password: admin . This interface allows you to configure network settings, Wi-Fi, and other features.Step 4: Configure Wi-FiNavigate to the Wi-Fi settings in the web interface. Set a network name (SSID) and password for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands if supported. Some Huawei devices also support Wi-Fi 6 or 7, providing better coverage and performance . You can enable or disable Wi-Fi using the WLAN button on the device .Step 5: Connect Your DevicesUse Ethernet cables or Wi-Fi to connect computers, smartphones, smart TVs, or other devices to the network. Ensure the LAN ports are properly connected if using wired connections .Step 6: Optional FeaturesWPS Button: Press for over 3 seconds to start Wi-Fi Protected Setup for easy device connection .USB Port: Connect storage devices for sharing files over the network .Reset Button: Short press resets the device; long press (over 10 seconds) restores factory settings. Use caution to avoid losing internet access .Safety and Installation TipsMount the device on a wall or place it on a desk; avoid outdoor installation .Maintain at least 10 cm clearance around the device for ventilation .Keep the device away from strong magnetic or electric fields, such as microwaves .Do not use detergents or corrosive chemicals to clean the panel . By following these steps, you can successfully set up and use a Huawei fiber optic panel for high-speed internet access at home or in a small office environment .
